This project began quite simply, I went to Southwark Cathedral and Borough Market because I was curious about why these places are viral on the internet. Before the tour i had done some research the Southwark Cathedral is one of the oldest and most culturally significant churches in London also this is the place where William Shakespeare’s brother Edmund Shakespeare is buried in. During this tour I tried to observe the patterns of different objects, which later inspired my mixed-media drawings.I began by photographing the places or objects that inspired me, then moved on to some quick sketch, in this project, I used acrylic paint, gouache, soft pastel, ink, crayon and sample collage to experiment with different shapes and patterns.

The fifth talking pattern drawing was inspired by a small display cabinet that was showing some Mudlarking finds from the Thames in the Southwark Cathedral. A piece of broken porcelain caught my attention, this porcelain had blue horizontal stripes and simple geometric shapes which i thought were very interesting. This piece of porcelain inspired me, and I made a simple sketch of it. Then I found that this pattern could create a good effect as a background. Moreover, when I walk to the Southwark Cathedral I saw some beautiful flowers that are called Fuchsia. I think combining these two elements can have a nice outcome.

The tenth talking pattern drawing was inspired by the symbol of Borough Market, when i started drawing I didn’t have a clear plan I just wanted to do a random sketch. But after i finish the quick sketch in pencil, i realized that it looks like a monster ,so i decided to change the colour of it.

During this projects, I found that i somehow drew all the things by simply recording what i saw, before this project, I wanted to respond the place and objects that i saw in a more personal and experimental way and translate that visually. I hope I can achieve that goal in the next project.

The talking color part is mostly inspired from the borough market and some of them are inspired by my own stuff example the talking color 4 is inspired from the borough markets plates when I’m walking to the borough market. I suddenly see this plate. I think it’s really gorgeous so I try to use gouache to draw it down. The talking color image five is inspired from my own pillow, so I tried to use circle to repeat again and again to make a regular pattern, but mostly the most interesting part of this image is its color I found out it’s really interesting combination, especially the green  and the blue. The talking collar image 10 is inspired from the Horniman Garden. I found a really interested in leaves and I tried to draw it shape and then I use the soft pastel to draw the background in order to show a really soft and gentle filling of that leaves because the leaves makes me feel really peaceful so I try to make this painting in a really peaceful and soft way to sho
